Tips for Starting a Garden with Kids
I found some helpful websites for starting a garden with kids.
http://www.kidsgardening.org/. Families can subscribe to the Kids Garden News or venture into the Family Room where there is a parents’ primer for how to make the most of gardening with your family. The site is operated by the National Gardening Association and includes links to dozens of resources, including Q&A library.
http://www.communitygarden.com/. This national organization based in Columbus, OH offers a variety of resources for would-be gardeners, including a series of best practices fact sheets that include 10 tips on gardening with your kids. The site also offers a locator map to help you find a community garden in your area.
http://www.homeandgardensite.com/ChildrensSite/index.htm This site is kid friendly to use and has links for starting vegtable gardens, flower gardens, as well as sections on bugs you find in the garden, and more projects.
http://www.gardening-with-kids.com/ This is more of a parent site but it has some great information for starting a garden with your kids. This site is very informational and gives you good tips for getting started.
